Today I'm going to explain the easiest and most effective way to deal with a small fire with a fire blanket.
Fire blankets are blankets made from fire or flame-retardant materials. The most effective way to use a fire blanket is to simply put out the flames in a small fire, cutting off the oxygen supply and preventing the fire from spreading. It makes sense to have fire blankets on hand at home and at work in case of a small fire.
Fire blankets are a useful way to deal with kitchen fires like deep fryers. The first thing you have to do (if possible) is to turn off the heat, then pull the blanket away so it's big enough to cover the entire flame. Put a fire blanket over a burning pan to put out the flames, leaving it there for at least half an hour to make sure the fire is out.
Fire blankets are also useful if one's clothing catches fire. Surround them in a blanket (make sure to wrap their hands safely in the blanket) and encourage the person to roll on the floor until the flames go out.
Another great use of a fire blanket is for protection when you need to walk through a burning room. Wrap yourself, infants, children or others safely in a fire blanket as you pass through fire-affected areas.
